About the Position
The Producers Guild of America is seeking a Temporary Awards Coordinator to join our team and assist in managing the awards submission process from the date of hire until mid-to-late February. As an Awards Coordinator, you will play a vital role in organizing aspects of the PGA Awards submission process that determines the eligibility of individuals for producing honors. Compensation Range, Reporting Structure and Work Schedule
- Compensation Range: $21.63- $24.04 per hour (equivalent to $45,000 - $50,000 per year), commensurate with skills and experience.
- This is a temporary nonexempt position
- Reports to Corporate Counsel/Director of Arbitrations
- Location: Los Angeles. The Guild works on a hybrid schedule of in-office on Tues, Wed, and Thurs and remote on Mon and Fri.
Responsibilities for the Temporary Awards Coordinator break down as follows and include working closely with other members of the department (Note: The Corporate Counsel/Director of Arbitrations and/or Guild leadership may modify the following responsibilities and/or percentages, as appropriate, to meet Guild priorities):
- Awards Eligibility Process Administration - 85%
- General Awards Administration - 15%
Awards Eligibility Process Administration
- Assist in the administration of the awards eligibility processes in a timely manner
- Verify eligibility of productions and producers through communication with studios, production companies, crew members and producers
- Assist staff, as necessary, in gathering the requisite materials for each submission
- Inventory each submission to ensure that the submitters have provided the requisite materials
- Answer general questions from staff and the public about the awards eligibility processes in a friendly and informative manner
- Maintain a complete log of all films and producers evaluated for awards eligibility
- Curate various reports requested by the Guild’s Executive staff
- Work with membership and programming departments regarding information requests
- Assist in the review of awards ballots
- Assist in the administration of the Documentary Nomination Jury process
Skills/Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years of legal and/or administrative experience, preferably within the entertainment industry.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Superior writing skills with expert level knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in managing data and generating reports.
- Solid analytical and computer skills, including expertise in Adobe, Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office programs, as well as the Google Suite.
- Strong oral communication skills to engage with influential producers, staff, and interns effectively.
- Ability to work independently while contributing successfully to a team.
- Unwavering ethics and a commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Demonstrated sound judgment, even in ambiguous situations.
- Positive, self-motivated attitude
